NOVICE RULES:
1. This division is designed to introduce and allow novice riders to show and practice their skills with only other novice riders in the class.
2. Riders may not have:
A. Placed in the top ten at the Arkansas State Horse Show
B. Earned any points at a Breed Show
C. Won a World Title
D. Won a horse related Queen’s Contest
E. Won money competing on a horse
F. Won a Year-End High Point Award in a horse show class
G. Receive remuneration for horse training
H. Receive remuneration for judging a horse event
3. Riders must be 14 or older
4. Horses in the class must be 4 yrs. or older and be a mare or gelding
5. Riders will not be disqualified for riding a senior horse two handed, holding the saddle horn or not loping when the lope is called, however these riders cannot be placed above a rider who executes the class correctly.
6. Dress code will follow the attire guidelines under Show Rules and Regulation in the Westark By Laws and Rules.
7. To qualify for Hi Pt or Reserve Hi Pt novice points, the exhibitor must show in a halter or showmanship class at that show.
8. Exhibitor may only show in the novice division for two years. (Starting in 2016)
9. The Westark Board may allow exceptions to any of the above rules when presented with reasonable justification.
